You should not use an adapter to convert displayport to hdmi anywhere in the signal chain other than right at the source. It seemed to work only sporadically. Hdmi can t carry displayport signal and a plain cable can t convert signals. Not really what you want in an adapter as the picture disappears once you stop applying pressure.
